Information about Military History Club "The 29th Infantry Regiment of Col. J. J. Švec" Jindřichův Hradec
Our club was estabilished on February 3 2001 in Nova Bystrice, at constitutive meeting of members and as a non-profit organization, it is registered by the Home Office of the Czech republic. With our activities, we try to follow the traditions of The 29th Infantry Regiment of „Colonel Josef Jiri Svec“ – Jindrichuv Hradec; this regiment carried out its duties in this locality in years 1918-1938. We gather all available information and we enrich our collections with equipment and weapons from the period mentioned above. Our collections include weapons, historical literature, handbooks and all details, related with living of the soldiers.
We organize tours at the system of light fortresses in Jindrichuv Hradec district and we show to the public all preparations of The 29th Infantry Regiment for defense of this region in years 1936 – 1938. These activities are directly connected with The Museum of the First Czechoslovak republic´s army in Jindřichův Hradec castle and The Museum of Czechoslovak fortification system Klaster II, that can be found eastwards from town of Nova Bystrice.
With time, scale of our activities expanded to several different departmental organs – like The 12th Batallion of the State Defense Guard, that defended region of Jindrichuv Hradec in years 1936-1939. It means, that in present we have – except military uniforms – even uniforms of Gendarmerie and Financial Guard as well.
Moreover, we cooperate with various organizations and military history clubs in the Czech republic and we make historical reenactments, expositions and talks in cooperation with them about various military themes.
